Building a Custom App from Scratch

It required a deep understanding for the platform’s architecture, scripting capabilities, and best practices. The client has very specific requirements, thus it was a big challenge to design the scalable workflow and easy to navigate user interface from scratch while maintaining the optimum performance.

Execution in a New Technical Domain

ServiceNow custom app development as well as S2P PoC setup were comparatively new domains for our team. So, it required the optimum balance between learning and delivering the functional solution along with respecting the tight deadlines at any costs. The complete project was dependent on a proactive approach and a fast-paced learning process

It was a challenging task to integrate ServiceNow with external systems like OR Soft and SAP. Moreover, ensuring the accurate and secure data transmission while working in the platform limitation required the careful error handling and robust integration strategies.

Our team facilitated the agile project management methodology to break down the project in several sprints and managing modules. Moreover, we relied on the native capabilities of ServiceNow like Flow Designer, Script Includes, and UI Policies to build a user centric, scalable solution. The continuous feedback loop from the testers and stakeholders helped to refine the solution.

Proactive Skill Building and On-the-Job Application

We addressed the knowledge gap by quickly revamping and diving into the provided platform documentation. At the same time, we leveraged sandbox environments for learning through hands-on development so that time is not wasted. The self-driven process helped us in the smooth development of S2P PoC and custom application without affecting timelines or quality.

API-Driven Architecture and Validation Layers

The API-based integration between OR Soft and ServiceNow helped us in the seamless transmission of Supplier details into the SAP system. Our team ensured diverse practices like advanced error handling, retry mechanisms, and validation rules to maintain consistency and data integrity.
